LANAP Gum Disease Treatment

LANAP® Gum Disease Treatment in Dallas

An Alternative to Traditional Gum Disease Care

Treatment for periodontal issues has gotten easier, quicker, and gentler with advancements in technology. Lynn Dental Care has invested in state-of-the-art LANAP® dental laser treatment in order to provide more effective and minimally invasive laser gum disease treatment.

LANAP works by using gentle laser light to eliminate gum disease without the need for scalpels or sutures. This means there will be minimal bleeding throughout the procedure, which is an attractive aspect to many patients. Patients are also drawn to LANAP because it yields nearly instant results with minimal discomfort when compared to traditional gum therapy.

If you have diseased soft tissues or gums that are not attached to your teeth, laser gum treatment might be right for you. As an added benefit, LANAP boasts True Regeneration™ of bone in the jaw. This means that when a patient has jaw deterioration from periodontal disease, our LANAP treatment can stimulate the bone to encourage regeneration without the need for bone grafts. This gives our patients a quicker and gentler periodontal treatment experience.

Protocol for Laser Gum Disease Treatment

LANAP delivers a precise amount of focused light energy via a small fiber that is gently placed in the periodontal pocket, which forms between the teeth and gum tissue. The laser works to reduce harmful bacteria and can remove small amounts of diseased gum tissue. LANAP also boosts True Regeneration™ of new bone in the jaw.

This procedure is ideal for those who have experienced jaw deterioration from periodontal disease. LANAP is able to stimulate the bone and encourage regeneration without the need for bone grafts. Tartar, which is characterized by red, bleeding, and swollen gums, is then gently removed from the surface of the roots with small dental instruments and an ultrasonic scaler.

Steps of the periodontal process:

  • The consultation phase will involve a comprehensive treatment plan and will walk you through the various steps needed for your specific treatment.
  • The laser portion of the treatment is performed first, which typically takes just a few minutes.
  • Scaling is the focus of the next step. During this part of the procedure, we remove tartar buildup using small tools.
  • For some patients, only one session of LANAP gum disease treatment is required, while others may require several sessions before they achieve optimal results. This will depend on the severity of the disease and the patient’s individual schedule.
