Types of Sedation
- Conscious Intravenous (I.V.) Sedation
Conscious I.V. sedation allows the dentist to carefully control the level of sedation a patient undergoes, while the patient experiences deep relaxation and no pain. Throughout the procedure, you are closely monitored and when it's done, you'll have little memory of it. - Oral Sedation
Before undergoing the procedure, you will take the sedative medication in pill form (about 40 minutes before the appointment). By the time the procedure begins, you will be comfortably sedated and feel nothing but relaxation.
