Bonding

Dental bonding is a fast, effective way to restore teeth that have suffered minor damage. During this treatment, a composite resin is placed on the teeth to repair chips and cracks, or to fill in a tooth that has been damaged by decay. Dr. Lynn can also sculpt this material to alter the shape or length of the teeth to a patient’s liking. The bonding material mimics enamel and therefore provides a natural-looking finish. Once placed, the bonding material is shaped, polished, and hardened.

Fillings

At Lynn Dental Care, our goal is to preserve the health of the teeth while keeping aesthetics in mind. Tooth-colored fillings are more natural-looking and safer than alternative silver and mercury fillings. They have also been known to last longer, and add strength to compromised teeth. Dr. Lynn also takes proactive measures to preserve the teeth, using laser-assisted technology known as DIAGNOdent to detect decay early on. 

Inlays/Onlays

Inlays and onlays can be thought of as more comprehensive tooth fillings, and are used when more than half of a tooth’s upper surface is damaged or weakened. Made of a strong porcelain material, inlays are used solely inside of the tooth, while onlays extend over one of more of the tooth’s cusps. Receiving inlays or onlays can help prevent further decay, and decrease tooth sensitivities.

Sealants

Sealants are a preventative measure that Dr. Lynn will take to avoid infection of the tooth’s surface. This tooth-colored coating is placed on the most vulnerable areas of the natural tooth, or on top of a pre-existing filling. By sealing out infection, Dr. Lynn helps patients avoid more costly or invasive procedures in the future.

Endodontics

More commonly known as root canal therapy, endodontic treatment is derived from endodontics, a form of dentistry that is focused on the nerve of the tooth. In the event that infection spreads to the tooth’s root, Dr. Lynn will perform treatment to save the tooth and avoid extraction. This treatment will vary based on the severity of the infection and location of the tooth. Contrary to popular belief, root canal therapy causes minimal discomfort thanks to the use of anesthesia.

Periodontics

Healthy teeth require healthy gums. Unfortunately, many individuals neglect their gums by not brushing and flossing regularly. Dr. Lynn is experienced in both diagnosing and treating periodontal diseases. TMJ Treatment

Oral Cancer Screenings

Dr. Lynn understands that early detection of cancer is a key component to treatment and recovery, which is why he incorporates oral cancer screenings into each appointment. The Velscope is a handheld light that is shone around the mouth to pinpoint possible risk areas, which will appear darker than healthy tissue. This is one of the most advanced screening methods available today.
