Implant Dentistry
|
Dental implants are changing the way people live. With them, people are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh, and enjoy life. They are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth which look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that their teeth appear natural.
Dental implants are tiny titanium posts that are placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. In addition, implants can help preserve facial structure and prevent the bone deterioration which occurs when teeth are missing.

i-cat Cone Beam 3-D Digital Imaging
Part of Uncompromising Quality of Care means investing in the best technology available.
 |
Simply put, the i-cat imaging system is an in-office cat scan, sometimes referred to as a cone beam cat scan, designed specifically for dental specialists such as Periodontists and Oral/Maxillofacial Surgeons, that provides highly accurate, high definition, 3-D images and information. This gives Dr. Lynn complete and accurate views of the anatomy of a patient’s mouth face and jaw areas. |
With the cone beam cat scan, Dr. Lynn can capture and more accurately analyze images of the position and orientation of critical structures like nerves, tooth roots, jawbone, sinuses and other data in three dimensions. This is achieved in 3-D, with much greater resolution and clarity than with traditional x-ray films or scans.
You can imagine the huge diagnostic advantage this technology offers the doctor of seeing teeth, jaw and nerves in three dimensions in precisely calibrated measurements where the surgeon can tell if there is sufficient bone present or whether important nerves are a safe distance away. We feel that the acquisition of this technology was a tremendously important benefit for our patients.
This means that this non-invasive, painless and comfortable procedure can greatly enhance our ability to accurately predict the success of implant and other procedures over traditional methods. It can help avoid unnecessary surgery and guide Dr. Lynn toward less invasive surgical procedures.
Patients that are concerned about reducing risk and increasing the likelihood of a successful outcome during implant placement, tooth extractions or other procedures should seriously consider the diagnostic advantages of utilizing i-cat cone beam imaging technology.
This is all accomplished, right in our office, in a comfortable, open environment in less than a minute. With the i-cat, usually in one office visit, Dr. Lynn can diagnose and discuss your situation with you with a great degree of accuracy and help you make an informed decision on how best to proceed.
Dr. Lynn is one of only a few dental specialists nationally that can provide this service for his patients.
