The Christmas lights in Highland Park have been a favorite for over 40 years. The main entrance is at Armstrong Parkway and Preston Road. The area of beautifully decorated homes consist of about a 21 block area, which is bordered by Preston on the east side, Mockingbird as the northern border, the Dallas Toll way on the west side and Armstrong Parkway, which should be your entrance way.

The end of the year is nearing and the holidays are upon us, even if this crazy Dallas weather is trying to tell us otherwise. I am Dr. Brock Lynn of Lynn Dental Care and I am always on the lookout for family events to tell my patients about.

Autumn is Wrapping Up at the Dallas Arboretum

This weekend, Autumn at the Arboretum is hosting its second to last weekend of the 2010 season. This great pumpkin and fall festival opened its doors on September 18, and will close them until next year on Sunday, November 14.

This exhibit is open daily from 9am to 5pm, however several of the activities happen exclusively on weekends. This weekend, piano melodies on the DeGolyer Loggia will take place from 11am to 2pm, Art Riddles Jazz Trio will perform on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage from noon to 4pm, and morning garden tours will be given on Saturday at 11am (l

Walk, Wag, and Run in White Rock Lake, October 23

The 7th Annual Lakewood Service League's Walk, Wag, and Run is this Saturday, October 23, in White Rock Lake. This event is meant to promote Halloween fitness for families and their furry friends, while benefiting the YMCA at White Rock, For the Love of the Lake, and the Friends of White Rock Lake Dog Park. Erik Jonsson Central Library, in downtown Dallas, will host the fifth international book fair on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event promotes the love for books, reading and writing.The event is free and open to the public. International, national and local authors will be reading and signing books. Cultural programs will again include artistic performances, poetry reading, music and children activities.Bring the family and enjoy a day of music, poetry and of course books!

See the Only Pumpkin Village in the World!

Each year the pumpkin festival gets bigger and better and this year is no exception! Dont miss the Storybook Pumpkin Village, the only pumpkin village in the world, with four walk-through houses made completely out of pumpkins. Each house will represent a childrens book that features pumpkins in the story. The houses will be surrounded by thousands of pumpkins and decorative gourds as well as The Tom Thumb Pumpkin Patch where guests can pick out and purchase pumpkins for their family decorations.
